Next Century Conservation Plan

Openlands and Metropolis Strategies provided staff leadership and direction for the Next Century Plan Commission--comprised of business and civid leaders--to create a strategic vision for the Forest Preserves of Cook County as they enter their second century.

Connecting people to nature where they live.

Openlands’ vision for the Chicago region is a landscape that includes a vast network of land and water trails, tree-lined streets, and intimate public gardens within easy reach of everyone. Openlands has helped secure, protect, and provide public access to more than 55,000 acres of land for parks, forest preserves, land and water greenway corridors, and urban gardens. Learn More ›
