Great Lakes Action Day at Openlands Lakeshore Preserve

July 11, 2014 | 10am - 2pm

Openlands is partnering with the Shedd Aquarium this year for the Great Lakes Action Days (GLAD) program, which is committed to protecting and conserving the Great Lakes.

The Openlands Lakeshore Preserve boasts carefully restored ecosystems that allow visitors to truly experience the beauty of rare ravine and bluff ecosystems. GLAD volunteers will help remove invasive vegetation, plant native grasses and wildflowers, and collect important data about lakeshore conditions through a variety of citizen-science projects. Great Lakes Action Days are an excellent way to get involved with the Openlands Lakeshore Preserve.
