Explore Your Lakes and Rivers Series: Lower Little Calumet River

THE LOCATION OF THIS EVENT HAS CHANGED FROM MIRACLE MARINA TO BEAUBIEN WOODS BOAT LAUNCH

 

Explore the Lower Little Calumet River from the Beaubien Woods boat launch.  Experience paddling a large voyageur canoe and learn about the birds of the Calumet area! Understand the history of the Little Calumet River and its banks, including its role in the Underground Railroad. Help maintain the river through stewardship. No experience is necessary, and all voyageur rides are guided by expert paddlers. This is a free event open to people of all ages. Bring your family to connect with the river! To get there exit I-94 at 130th St. and head west. Turn south (left) on Ellis Ave. and left again on Doty Ave. At Carver Military Academy cross the railroad tracks on 132nd St. Turn left on the park drive.

No Registration necessary BUT:  If you are bringing a large group, or if you are bringing children or teens under 18 without their parents, please contact Laura Barghusen at lbarghusen@openlands.org
