Explore Your Lakes and Rivers Series: The Hidden Nature of Garfield Park

Explore the Jens Jensen designed treasure that is Garfield Park! Get to know the hidden nature at Garfield Park, paddle in the lagoon, and lend a hand to help maintain the park’s natural areas! No experience is necessary but participants must be at least 5 years old to be allowed on the boats. This event is free and open to the public, but pre-registration is necessary to ensure a spot in a boat! Please register by contacting Laura Barghusen at lbarghusen@openlands.org, and include your name, email and the number of people in your group.  

Meeting location:

Meet at the edge of the lagoon near the intersection of Hamlin Blvd and Maypole Avenue.  Turn east (toward the lagoon) at the intersection of Hamlin Blvd and Maypole Avenue. You will immediately encounter McCrea Drive to your right and Schrader Drive to your left.  Park along McCrea Drive or Schrader Drive.  The paddling will be at the edge of the lagoon east of the intersection of Hamlin Blvd and Maypole Avenue.
