Rock Cut State Park
- The "cut" in the park is a result of 19th century railroad construction. The 40 ft. limestone bluffs along Willow Creek are remnants of the deposits in the ancient seas which covered Illinois during the 400-500 million year old Ordovician Period, before the time of the dinosaurs

- Burpee Museum of Natural History, Main St. /Rte. 2 and Whitman St. on the west bank of the Rock River, 3 blocks north of the GIT on the Jefferson St. bridge.

Winnebago

In addition to the campground, there is a primitive cabin available for reservation. It has electricity, but does not have water or plumbing facilities. The park hours are 6 a.m. until 10 p.m., seven days a week from October 1 until April 1.
