Founded in 1963, Openlands protects the natural and open spaces of northeastern Illinois and the surrounding region to ensure cleaner air and water, protect natural habitats and wildlife, and help balance and enrich our lives.

Janis DiGiovanna, Administrative Assistant

Janis DiGiovanna’s background includes seventeen years with the Chicago Resource Center, where she helped maintain a national grant-making program that awarded more than $17.8 million to non-profit organizations throughout the country.  As program officer for five years and associate director for twelve, she reviewed grant requests, conducted site visits, evaluated and reviewed organizational information, and analyzed financial data.

Janis was also a member of the National Network of Grantmakers, Chicago Women in Philanthropy, and Women and Philanthropy.
