Openlands Board Member JoAnn Seagren

JoAnn is a Partner at Chicago Capital LLC, a wealth management firm.

JoAnn joined Openlands’ Board in 2014 and traces her love of nature to her upbringing in California, hiking, biking, and exploring the outdoors. When she moved to Illinois, she met Jerry Adelmann, who gave her the opportunity to help on a planning task force for the Canal Corridor Association.

JoAnn is a member of the Economic Club of Chicago and the International Women’s Forum. She serves on the boards of the Chicago Council on Global Affairs and The Fortnightly of Chicago, and is a co-founder of Smartfarms.org. Crain’s Chicago Business recognized JoAnn as one of their Notable Nonprofit Board Leaders in 2022 for her work as Chair of Openlands.

JoAnn lives in the Gold Coast neighborhood. She holds a B.S. in Business from the University of Southern California, where she graduated magna cum laude.
