Join Openlands for a virtual nature walk and presentation on our restoration efforts at Deer Grove Forest Preserve!
Restoring the Land: A Virtual Walk through Deer Grove Forest Preserve Thursday May 21st 5:30pm via Zoom
May 22nd is International Day of Biological diversity, a United Nations sponsored day recognizing the importance of biodiversity to our global community. To celebrate, join Openlands on May 21 in taking a virtual nature walk through Deer Grove Forest Preserve! Part virtual walk, part presentation, we’ll talk about Openlands and the Cook County Forest Preserve’s restoration efforts to support and reestablish native biodiversity and ecosystems over the last ten years. Openlands Restoration Specialist, Linda Masters and Climate Fellow, Ted Haffner, will talk about the importance of restoration, and particularly wetlands restoration, to our region’s health and vitality. Along the way, we’ll highlight some of the native plants and ecosystems that you can enjoy this spring and summer on your own social distanced nature walk.
